Senior Manager, Investor Relations

POSITION SUMMARY

Geron is looking for a Senior Manager, Investor Relations (IR) to join our IR and Corporate Communications team. The ideal candidate will have a background in biotechnology or drug development, who is eager to learn, and will share the Company’s passion for bringing our first-in-class telomerase inhibitor, imetelstat, to the market. The Senior Manager, IR will report to the Vice President, Investor Relations and Corporate Communications, as well as work across the company with other R&D and G&A teams, including executive management, and with external agency partners. This role will support and contribute to corporate branding and messaging (internal and external) and investor relations strategy in a transformational time for Geron as we plan to become a commercial company. This is a remote based position with a corporate headquarters in Foster City, CA and Parsippany, NJ.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

Key Competencies:

  • Schedules, coordinates, and manages investor events and activities including conferences, earnings, and announcements this may include coordinating press release distribution, managing conference call logistics, and maintaining disclosure committee approvals
  • Maintains, supports, and manages materials for investors including corporate presentations, press releases, conference call scripts and Q&A documents
  • Updates and maintains corporate calendar of events for external-facing activities, as well as internal activities having potential impact on external communications
  • Tracks and summarizes all analyst models and consensus estimates, as well as published commentary for Geron and relevant competitor programs
  • Analyzes and monitors the company’s shareholder base and create reports summarizing trends and shifts amongst our stockholders
  • Creates tracking system for all investor interactions
  • Provides general project support for external initiatives, projects, and events within Corporate Communications
  • Manges Investor Relations website
  • Supports Investor Relations leadership in providing accurate and timely responses to inquiries from investors and analysts and assist in responding to retail investor inquiries

EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 3-5 years of work experience in investor relations, biotech investing, biotech venture capital, or equity research within the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry
  • Experience in biotech, healthcare or pharma required; experience with oncology and/or hematology, preferred
  • Understanding of sensitivity around material non-public information and function of communications for a publicly traded company and familiarity with appropriate regulatory and legal requirements
  • Extremely strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills and an ability to summarize complex medical and scientific information using terms and concepts that are most relevant and appropriate for different audiences
  • Individual must be well-organized, a self-starter with strong attention to detail and able to manage multiple ongoing projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and meet deadlines in a dynamic, complex, and fast-paced team environment
  • An understanding of financial modeling used by investment professionals to value the organizations performance
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise judgment and discretion
  • Willingness to learn new tasks
  • Proficient in Power Point, Excel, Word, and formatting materials
  • Experience with developing and maintaining an investor web page
  • Travel may be required in the future, up to 10% of the time
