Chinmaya Rath has served as our Senior Vice President, Chief Business Officer since July 2026.
Background
Chinmaya is a seasoned biopharmaceutical executive with more than 25 years of U.S. and global experience across corporate strategy, business development, commercialization, and strategic partnerships. Most recently, he served as Head of Pharma Solutions at Cellworks, a company focused on precision biosimulation to improve drug development and patient outcomes. Previously, he was Chief Business Officer at GlycoMimetics, a late-stage clinical biotechnology company that subsequently merged with Crescent Biopharma, and Founder and CEO of CelluRx, a potential cell therapy spin-off of Saliogen Therapeutics. Earlier, as Vice President of Innovation and Strategic Alliances at Omega Therapeutics (a Flagship Pioneering Company) he played a key role in defining the company’s strategy, portfolio, innovation, and business development efforts from pre-Series A through IPO.
Chinmaya spent a significant portion of his career at Novartis, where he advanced through leadership roles of increasing responsibility, culminating as Head of Strategy and Operations for the U.S. Oncology Business Unit. During his tenure, he led high-impact enterprise initiatives, including the integration of the GSK Oncology and Aclon businesses. He also supported successful U.S. launches across hematology and solid tumors, including Tasigna® and Lynparza®. Since November 2022, Chinmaya has served as a Venture Partner with Social Impact Capital, representing the firm on the Board of Directors of Catena Biosciences and serving as a Board Observer at Menten AI.
Chinmaya earned MBAs from Warwick Business School in the United Kingdom and Army Institute of Management studies in India. He completed his undergraduate studies in Life Science with honors from Ravenshaw University, India.
