Our leadership
Meet the team leading with urgency for patients and a vision for the future of blood cancer care.
our purpose
For people living with blood cancer, the impact of disease extends beyond diagnosis and treatment. It can affect energy, independence, daily routines, and the ability to spend time with those they love.
That reality creates an urgent need for therapies that do more than simply manage symptoms. At Geron, we believe progress should be measured not only by scientific achievement, but by the ability to improve quality of life.
our story
Transformative breakthroughs often begin with pursuing ideas others overlook or consider too difficult to achieve. For Geron, that meant pursuing the potential of telomerase.
Decades of research established telomerase as a fundamental driver of cancer biology, but translating telomerase inhibition into a therapeutic reality proved challenging. Geron remained committed to that vision, driven by the belief that patients deserved new approaches to address significant unmet needs.
That persistence led to the development of imetelstat, the first and only telomerase inhibitor approved in the U.S. and Europe, validating a differentiated approach to treating a rare blood cancer.
inside Geron
Everything we do is grounded in one belief—patients cannot wait. Whether developing new therapies, generating clinical evidence, supporting healthcare professionals, or helping bring treatments to patients, every team member contributes to a shared purpose.
Our culture is defined by curiosity, collaboration, accountability, and the persistence that has defined Geron from the beginning. The determination that helped transform telomerase inhibition from a bold scientific idea into a clinically validated approach continues to guide how we think, work, and pursue what’s next for patients.
