Real-world Outcomes of Imetelstat: Interrogating Safety, Efficacy and Predictors of Response in Heavily Pretreated Lower-Risk MDS Patients
EHA 2026
At Geron, real-world evidence (RWE) is an important part of our broader evidence-generation strategy—helping us continue to learn, ask new questions, and build on what we know from clinical research.
RWE is clinical and/or economic evidence generated through the analysis of real-world data, which is information collected outside of traditional clinical trials.
Real-world data can come from a variety of sources including electronic health records, insurance claims, patient registries, chart reviews, health surveys, and other sources that reflect routine clinical care and patient experiences.
When analyzed using appropriate scientific methods, these data can help researchers better understand how diseases are managed and how treatments are used in everyday practice.
Clinical trials remain essential to evaluating new medicines. RWE can complement clinical trial data by helping answer additional questions about patients, treatment patterns, outcomes, and experiences in routine clinical practice.
At Geron, we are integrating RWE into our broader research and evidence-generation efforts to deepen our understanding of blood cancers and the patients affected by them.
Our commitment to research does not end when a clinical trial is complete. We continue to generate and evaluate evidence to better understand how our medicines may impact patients across different settings over time.
Generating meaningful evidence takes collaboration. In addition to Geron-sponsored research, we support opportunities for independent investigators to explore important scientific questions, including research that may generate RWE.
If you are a qualified researcher or healthcare professional interested in conducting investigator-sponsored research related to Geron’s areas of scientific interest, learn more about our program and how to submit a proposal.
Our growing body of real-world research reflects our ongoing commitment to advancing scientific understanding and generating evidence that can help inform patient care.
