September is Blood Cancer Awareness Month. We stand with everyone living with blood cancer — this month and every day.

Science

We pursue scientific approaches with the potential to change how blood cancers are treated.
Geron’s approach is rooted in the belief that important advances come from pursuing promising (and sometimes challenging) science with conviction and persistence. That philosophy helped establish telomerase inhibition as a clinically validated approach and continues to guide our work today.

pipeline

Advancing our clinical development program

We continue to build on our understanding of telomerase biology to explore opportunities where this approach may address additional unmet needs in hematologic malignancies.

IMerge Single Agent imetelstat Complete
Discovery Pre-clinical Phase 1 Phase 2 Phase 3 Approved

IMerge was our pivotal Phase 3 clinical trial that supported FDA approval of imetelstat for the treatment of transfusion-dependent lower risk myelodysplastic syndromes (LR-MDS) in adults who are ineligible for or have not responded to an erythropoiesis stimulating agent (ESA).

R/R MF

IMpactMF Single Agent imetelstat Enrollment complete IMpactMF logo
Discovery Pre-clinical Phase 1 Phase 2 Phase 3 Approved

IMpactMF is our pivotal Phase 3 clinical trial evaluating imetelstat versus best available therapy for the treatment of patients with intermediate-2 or high-risk myelofibrosis (MF) who are relapsed or refractory to a Janus associated kinase (JAK) inhibitor.

Frontline MF

IMproveMF Combination Therapy imetelstat Enrollment complete IMproveMF logo
Discovery Pre-clinical Phase 1 Phase 2 Phase 3 Approved

IMproveMF is a two-part Phase 1 clinical trial evaluating imetelstat in combination with ruxolitinib in patients with Intermediate-1, Intermediate-2 or high-risk frontline MF.

Next Generation TI Program

Ongoing
Discovery Pre-clinical Phase 1 Phase 2 Phase 3 Approved

Our next-generation telomerase inhibition (TI) programs are focused on advancing new approaches that build on our understanding of telomerase biology and expand the potential of telomerase inhibition across other cancers.

IMpress Single Agent imetelstat Enrollment complete
Discovery Pre-clinical Phase 1 Phase 2 Phase 3 Approved

IMpress is a Phase 2 clinical trial evaluating imetelstat as a single agent in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) or high-risk MDS, who are relapsed/refractory/intolerant to hypomethylating agents, or HMAs.

evidence generation

Expanding knowledge beyond our clinical trials

Clinical development is one part of how we advance science. We continue to generate evidence through company-sponsored research, investigator-sponsored studies, real-world evidence, publications, and scientific presentations that deepen understanding of blood cancers, telomerase inhibition, and patient care.

Investigator-sponsored research

We support independent research led by external investigators to explore clincially meaningful scientific and clincial questions. Depending on the study design, these programs may generate clincial, translational, or real-world evidence.

Real-world evidence

Real-world evidence complements clincial trial findings by providing insights from routine clincial practice. At Geron, these studies help deepen understanding of treatment patterns, outcomes, and the patient experience, while informing future research.
